2012 is the fastest selling year to date for Beautiful Days with over 75% of the tickets already sold by the end of March. Its looking like the festival may sell out months in advance of previous years so if you are planning to buy tickets – please don’t leave it too late!

The festival picked up BEST FAMILY FESTIVAL at the UK Festival Awards ceremony at the Roundhouse in London on the 15 November 2011. Thank you to all those who voted for us, all the festival crew and to everyone who comes to Beautiful Days!

There are some fantastic reviews and photographs on the festival website and on the festival facebook from Beautiful Days 2011. If you haven’t already, then please give us your feedback on the festival, tag us in your photos and let us know who you’d like to see at the festival in 2012. We’re already in talks with bands, including some old friends, but the line-up wont be announced for a while yet so do send in your suggestions.

We’re delighted to let you know that we will be opening the gates to Beautiful Days 2011 on Thursday to weekend campers at no extra cost to you. Weekend camping ticket holders will be able to enter the site between 2pm and 9pm on Thursday 18 August to set up camp. The gates will then re-open for entry at 9am on Friday morning. Stages will not start until Friday afternoon but caterers, traders and bars will be open on Thursday. By opening the gates on Thursday we hope you will be able to enter the site on Thursday or Friday and set up camp at a more leisurely pace. And we wont have to get up as early on the Friday morning as in previous years!

The Sunday theme for Beautiful Days 2011 will be ‘Spots & Polka Dots’ Its up to you whether you want to dress up as a Dalmation or a Ladybird or just wear a spotty shirt, bowtie or skirt. Whatever you dress yourself up in on the Sunday, please make sure you’re wearing something spotty or dotty! We’re already planning some amazing site art amongst other things which will tie in with the theme and we will be running a competition on Dirty Davey’s Bandstand to find the person with the most dotty outfit!

They share the bill on Friday night at Beautiful Days with the return of gypsy-punks Gogol Bordello.  They are back by popular demand after a storming set headlining the festival in 2007. Led by the energetic and charismatic Eugene Hutz, Gogol Bordello – a nine-piece juggernaut of gypsy rebel soul – has become an international force to be reckoned with and is arguably one of the best live acts around.

Headlining the Saturday night at Beautiful Days are Carter USM making their first festival appearance in 14 years and their only UK festival appearance this year. In a career that spanned 10 years, Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine’s achievements included a Number One album and many hit singles whose lyrics have dealt with very unlikely pop themes. Their ferociously entertaining live shows have earned them the most dedicated fan followings in the wonderful world of alternative pop.

Festival founders Levellers will close the festival on the Sunday night followed by a firework finale.

We can however let you know that we have invited the Oysterband to take over The Big Top stage on Saturday 20th August for a classic all-day Big Session line-up headlined by them. Oysterband’s Big Session Festival is on the move in 2011. It has previously taken place in Leicester and will settle into a new permanent home in 2012 but we are delighted to announce that it will be making its first port-of-call at Beautiful Days this year.
