Beautiful Days started in 2003 and is an annual, independent weekend camping festival which takes place in Devon. The now 17,500 capacity (which includes all children, crew & artists) festival was founded by Levellers, and is organised by DMF Music. Beautiful Days is a family-friendly weekend camping event attended by people of all ages. Beautiful Days does not advertise and has no corporate sponsorship or branding.

Our ethos has always been to “offer not only the best in live music today but to re-create a community spirit that many events nowadays lack. This event is about people young and old coming together and taking part in something that will be remembered for a long time.” We have already booked some brilliant artists to join us next year but its early days for announcing anything just yet.

We are busy planning and developing some fantastic new ideas for site art installations, walkabout performance theatre and deciding on the theme for 2019. We have already made improvement to the site itself to speed up the entry for campervans and larger vehicles next year. And we will be opening a new entry gate to site on the Thursday specifically for cars only to allow quicker entry to the car parks and site. And, even though we had more in 2018, we will be adding even more toilets around site to try to help reducing queuing!

The festival’s stages include The Main Stage & The Big Top and a seated Theatre Tent. Line-up for 2018 included Manic Street Preachers, The Hives, Levellers, Gogol Bordello, Feeder, Suzanne Vega, Calexico, Shed Seven and Richard Thompson. The festival also has a large children’s area in the centre of the festival for toddlers through to teens, play areas in the campsites, walkabout theatre, site art, family camping, food & craft stalls, healing area and real ale bars run by local company Otter Brewery. Beautiful Days won THE GRASS ROOTS FESTIVAL AWARD in 2015 & 2006 and the BEST FAMILY FESTIVAL AWARD in 2011 at the UK Festival Awards. The festival has also been shortlisted a number of times in previous years for Best Family Festival, Best Medium Sized Festival, The Grass Roots Festival Award and Best Toilets at the same Awards. The festival won Best Medium Festival at the 2017 & 2015 FestivalKidz.com Awards.

We’ve been nominated for Best Medium Festival, The Grassroots Festival Award and Best Family Festival at the 2018 UK Festival Awards. Voting is open now until 30 October!
