2019 Theatre Tent

The seated Theatre Tent at the festival has increased in size this year due to overwhelming demand for shows and will this year host stand-up comedy from John Shuttleworth, the enduringly brilliant comic creation of Graham Fellows who is well-loved from his Radio 4 series, The Shuttleworths plus award-winning comedian, writer and broadcaster Robin Ince. Shows will include Mr Bloom & his Band – a four-piece band of musical gardeners, fronted by CBeebies best known gardener, Mr Bloom. Plus Entertainingly Different present their ever popular early morning Rise ’n’ Shine sessions each day. Lucky Dog Productions present The Laurel and Hardy Cabaret – a bumper package of routines, songs and dances from The Boys’ 30-year career featuring some classic movie sequences along with some hilarious Music Hall sketches the pair toured in the 1940s and 50s. Clarke Andrew’s Tempest is an enchanting reinvention of Shakespeare’s play played out through song and physical theatre featuring songs written and performed live by internationally renowned folk singer Jim Causley alongside performance from actor Charlie Coldfield. One of the country’s best-known historians Dr Sam Willis & Professor James Daybell present Histories of the Unexpected – an exciting and fun new show that demonstrates how everything has a history and also that those histories link together in unexpected, and often rather magical, ways. The Theatre Tent also welcomes back favourites The Bo Diddlers and Le Navet Bete plus Circo Rum Ba Ba who present their new show Dress Circle. Noisy Oyster present aerial acrobatics and spectacular cycling stunts with the individually crafted one third life-size marionettes of The DaSilva Marionette Circus Troupe, plus Soap Soup Theatre combine beautiful puppetry, charmingly funny characters and magical music to present The Pixies’ Scarf, Scratchworks take on the Romans and the Patriarchy with their show Womans and the line-up is completed by the highly physical, intensely silly show Film De Mime and improvised comedy sketch group The RH Experience. We are also going to be screening ‘Rudeboy: The Story Of Trojan Records’ on Friday night in the Theatre Tent at Beautiful Days 2019. BMG recently commissioned Pulse Films to create a documentary on the history of the world’s most iconic and influential Jamaican music label, Trojan Records. The result is this critically acclaimed music documentary which combines compelling dramatisations of key chapters in the story, along with archive and interview footage. It tells the story of the label by placing it at the heart of a cultural revolution that unfolded on the council estates and dancefloors of late 60s and early 70s Britain, as immigration and innovation transformed popular music and...

BD2019 News & Update

We’re still smiling thinking back to this year’s event and want to offer our thanks again if you were there – so many wonderful performances, special moments, happy people and sunshine! Thank you for your feedback and suggestions for 2019, all noted and taken on board. Our ethos has always been to “offer not only the best in live music today but to re-create a community spirit that many events nowadays lack. This event is about people young and old coming together and taking part in something that will be remembered for a long time.” We have already booked some brilliant artists to join us next year but its early days for announcing anything just yet. We are busy planning and developing some fantastic new ideas for site art installations, walkabout performance theatre and deciding on the theme for 2019. We have already made improvement to the site itself to speed up the entry for campervans and larger vehicles next year. And we will be opening a new entry gate to site on the Thursday specifically for cars only to allow quicker entry to the car parks and site. And, even though we had more in 2018, we will be adding even more toilets around site to try to help reducing queuing! 2019 TICKETS Beautiful Days 2019 festival tickets will be available from 9am 12 October – all details/prices/links here TICKETS We always used to go on sale around this point and have decided to pull the on sale date forward to give us all more time for planning and booking. As we mentioned previously, we are holding all ticket prices for adults and children and are not increasing the capacity of the festival. We do not have any Early Bird or Tiered pricing, the first through to the last tickets will all have the same face value. As we don’t offer payment plans you should have time to save/spend as you wish and won’t be worse off for buying sooner or later – should you decide to join us in 2019. CARAVANS, TIPIS, BELL TENTS & YURTS We are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of Caravan pitches in 2019, these are available from both ticket outlets and the 8m x 8m pitches include space to park your car. Trailer Tents will no longer be able to go in the Campervan Fields, you will need to purchase a Caravan Pitch. There are no cars permitted in the Campervan Fields or Campsites. We are extending the Tipi area in Barleyfields Campsite next year. The area, which will be called The Garden, will include a limited number of Bell Tents and Yurts for hire. Information here on THE GARDEN page with links to book direct with our partners Hope to see you in 2019...
